Controlled signalling in soft matter.

WG3 · Aim

Controlled signalling in soft matter

Develop chemical signal cascades embedded in soft materials that transmit information autonomously. Like a flock of birds or the arms of an octopus, coordination needs sending, receiving and interpreting signals in a noisy environment.

signalling within hydrogels · vesicle and polymersome exchange · controlled propagation · programmed release kinetics

Tasks

  • T3.1 Unite experts from microfluidics, systems chemistry, materials design and the arts
  • T3.2 Train on materials fabrication and analytical techniques to study chemical signals in materials

WG leader: elected at the kick-off meeting on 1 November 2026.
